Reflection #4 - Online Learning

            I have come across an amazing online learning website.  It is simply called e-learning for kids. The purpose of this site is to support and reinforce essential skills that children need and sometime struggle with in the classroom.  Any student who has Internet access is able to access this site without paying a dime!   E-learning for kids was created from a nonprofit organization for children age 5-12 years old.  From my experience with this web site, it is easy to manipulate and can be used without adult supervision.  It does not require you to set up a username and password either.  You simply find the subject you want to work with and pick a game to play.  It offers information in math, science, keyboarding and reading and gives opportunities for parents and teachers to share information of their own on this site as well. 

            The games and activities are grouped according to grade level and content area.  The website does not include any advertisements that would be distracting during the lessons either.  I was relieved about that.  The graphics and animation on the games and videos are spectacular! There is even a teacher guide with most of the activities that includes the learning goals for that particular game. Most activities also give a print option as well.  This would be useful in a classroom setting so the student could print off their score to show the teacher which activity they were working on that day.  I think this online learning tool would be a great option for my students while working in the classroom, or when studying in a computer lab.
