Tech Review #2

I am reviewing the website “Storyline Online”.  It is a wonderful site, similar to Book Flix, where children’s pictures books are read aloud.  Unlike Book Flix, this is a free website that is great for any age group.  The Screen Actors Guild Foundation sponsors this site.  They record famous actors and actresses reading children’s books and add some amazing videos to follow along with while they are reading.  Children of any age from anywhere in the world can have a book read aloud to them with just the click of a button.
Not only are the videos amazing to watch, but also the children are encouraged to read from popular actors that they would otherwise never encounter.  I love using this resource in my classroom.  The kids love listening to the stories over and over again.  Thank You, Mr. Faulker, and Harry the Dirty Dog are just a couple of the wonderful titles to choose from.  My favorite is Romeow and Drooliet.  Give this site a look.  I know you will use it in your classroom!

  1. Such a fun site! I especially like the fact that it's free!! Also, the popular actors and actresses reading the stories would make it fun to listen to. I enjoy hearing the author read their own book. Are there any authors reading on this website? Thanks for reviewing this website, I will be bookmarking it!

  2. This is really neat! I have heard about this website before, but never watched a video on my own. I think it is great way to expose students to a variety of reading styles and I'm sure they would enjoy hearing stories from famous actors. Even the cool guys love to read!
